Planishing hammers are used for smoothing, shaping and finishing sheet metal with controlled repeated blows. They are useful in fabrication, restoration, bodywork, prototyping and workshop production where consistent forming is needed without slow hand hammering.
A pneumatic planishing hammer is a practical choice for light metal and sheet-metal work. It helps refine curves, remove small marks and produce more even surfaces when used with the right hammer tools and air supply.
For light sheet-metal forming, the NOVA H500 offers a 500 mm throat, 875–1350 BPM piston speed and 3.45–6.89 bar operating pressure. Its foot pedal control, adjustable anvil height and included hammer tools make it a compact option for accurate planishing work.
For heavier forming and forging tasks, the NOVA C41-25 Air Hammer is built for small and medium-sized metalworking companies. With 380 V power supply, 3000 W rated power and a 680 kg machine weight, it is suitable for knife forging, sheet-metal forming and finishing metal parts.
When selecting a machine, consider the material thickness, workpiece size, available floor space, air or electrical supply, and the type of forming you do most often. If you are unsure which model fits your use, our skilled staff can help you compare the options before ordering.
Planishing and air hammer work often benefits from suitable bottom dies, hammer tools and supporting sheet-metal machinery. English wheels, bead rollers, shrinker/stretchers and shear-brake-roll combination machines can help build a more complete forming workflow for cutting, curving, shrinking, stretching and finishing panels.
Machines are generally kept in stock, while a few top-tier professional models may be sold on request. Please check the product details for live stock status before ordering.
Shipments are sent from Finland, and in-stock products are normally delivered in 2–4 business days depending on destination. Our warehouse is located in Seinäjoki, Finland, and NOVA service support is available through the Seinäjoki store location.
