Choose a pneumatic planishing hammer or air hammer for sheet metal shaping, smoothing, finishing and light forging. Compare throat depth, hammer speed, air or power requirements and machine size to find the right tool for workshop use.

Planishing hammers and air hammers make sheet metal forming faster, more consistent and easier to control than manual hammering alone. They are used for smoothing, stretching, shaping and finishing metal panels, as well as selected forging and forming tasks in workshops, fabrication shops and metalworking training environments.
The selection includes compact pneumatic planishing equipment for lighter sheet metal work and heavier air hammer machines for more demanding forming and forging applications. When choosing a machine, pay attention to throat depth, hammer speed, working pressure, machine weight and the type of work you need to perform.
For sheet metal smoothing, panel shaping and controlled finishing, a pneumatic planishing hammer is often the practical choice. The NOVA H500 Pneumatic Planishing Hammer offers a 500 mm throat, adjustable anvil height, foot pedal control and a working speed of 875–1350 BPM, making it suitable for light metal and sheet-metal forming.
For heavier forming, knife forging and small to medium workshop use, a stronger air hammer may be the better option. The NOVA C41-25 Air Hammer is a 380 V, 3000 W machine with a 680 kg structure, designed for more demanding metalworking tasks where mass, power and stability matter.
Correct tooling has a direct effect on the result. Hammer tools, peens and anvils help adapt the machine to different forming and finishing tasks. Spare and replacement peens are available for compatible air hammer models, and many spare parts are available directly from stock.
Planishing work is often part of a wider sheet metal workflow. Depending on the job, an English wheel, bead roller, shrinker/stretcher or shear-brake-roll combination machine may also be useful for preparing, shaping and refining panels before or after hammering.
Machines are generally kept in stock at our warehouse in Seinäjoki, Finland, while only a few top-tier professional models are sold on request. Please check each product page for live stock status before ordering.
Shipments are sent from Finland, and in-stock products are normally delivered in 2–4 business days depending on the destination. Skilled staff can help you compare models and choose the right machine for your work, and NOVA service supports customers through the Seinäjoki store location.
